About Natasha:

Natasha Martina (she/her) is a Vancouver-based movement specialist offering movement education for actors and people of all abilities from infants to older adults.

Her early interest in the performing arts began when she trained and worked as an actor before entering the field of pedagogy specializing in Somatics (a practice that enables individuals to access new patterns of functionality and expressivity through mindful consciousness facilitated through movement, voice, and touch). Natasha completed her master’s degree from Central School of Speech and Drama (London, UK) specializing in Movement Pedagogy and Movement Direction and is a certified Laban Movement Analyst, Somatic Movement Educator (BMC®), Infant Developmental Movement Educator (BMC®), yoga teacher, and GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® trainer. Natasha is registered as a Master Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist through ISMETA. Additionally, Natasha is certified as an Intimacy Coordinator and Director through Intimacy Professionals Association.   

Natasha was a tenured professor (2006-2024) at the University of Saskatchewan specializing in movement for actors and acting and has taught at various academic institutions, including Vancouver Film School, Central School of Speech and Drama, Rose Bruford College, East 15 Acting School, and London Centre of Theatre Studies.

She has movement-directed and coached theatrical productions nationally and internationally, and has served as a theatrical intimacy coordinator/director for numerous productions. Select direction/movement credits include: Shadows Among the Prairies (Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre); Displaced (M1 Singapore Festival; Sandbox Series - Globe Theatre; Live Five; St. Ambroise Fringe Festival; PotashCorp Fringe Festival); and Departures (Canada 300/Watermark Theatre - Canadian Tour).

Select intimacy coordination/direction credits include: The Birds and the Bees (Persephone Theatre); Laid (NBC/Universal; Totally Killer (Amazon); and The Girl Who Escaped: The Kara Robinson Story (Lifetime). 

Natasha is a Canadian and Swiss citizen based in Vancouver and willing to travel for work.
